Inspiration Challenge!

Let's kick off Creativity Week with a bang!  I love a good challenge, and a GREAT prize ($10 gift certificate to the CC store!), so keep reading to find out how you can win.

Below are six pages from magazines to inspire your creativity - it could be the colors, the shapes, the layout on the page, even evoking an emotion - YOU choose what inspires YOU.  Here are the rules:

1.  Contest runs until midnight EST Sunday, September 26th.  Entries must be posted to the CC gallery with the words "blog challenge" in the title by the above date/time. Additionally, post a comment on this blog entry that you have completed a project and posted it to the gallery.

2.  Complete a project inspired from one of the magazine pages for an entry to the drawing. The more you create, the more entries you receive.

3.  Receive a *bonus* entry for creating your project using a CC kit.

4.  Winner to be chosen from random drawing of all entries and posted on the blog September 27th.

Fabulous find Sunday

 
Good morning ladies, I would like to start by saying how incredible the projects in the gallery have been this month !!! Bravo to all of you !! It made choosing a fab find really hard for me this week .

I finally went with this beauty from Debbiefitz .

 
The purple on this beautiful Fall layout got my attention right away in the gallery and then I practically drooled at the burlap ,stitching and beads background piece !!!! I love all the little details and photo of her sweet girl with what looks like a really heavy pumpkin!

Hello, ladies! It's Saturday and time for a Fabulous Find! I know, I know ... I did a Fab Find last Saturday. I totally messed up last Saturday's blog. UGH!

First, I forgot about it and let my gobbledygook post. Then, I looked at the wrong week in my planner and did a Fab Find instead of my project reveals. Did anyone notice but me? Perhaps I shouldn't have said anything ... *embarassed*

But today I'm on the right track with this adorable page by Rebecca (rebeccak). I love this page for so many reasons, including:

• The pp is a yummy wood grain print in a neutral blue-grey.
• Rebecca pairs the neutral pp with pops of red, yellow and blue.
• A banner! With rounded edges! And BUTTONS! (Love buttons.)
• And that photo! What a cutie patootie.

Friday's Find

Thanks for sharing all those amazing layouts in the gallery everyone!  Lot's of fun stuff to be found.  Amybug has gotten busy with her Preppy Boy kit already, she's posted two great layouts this week.  I've selected her layout "Complete Tada" ...

How can you not love this???  First all those FAB papers from the kit were used, then she cut them into puzzle pieces to make a mat for her photo!  How cool is that?  Then I think the bold black title wrapped around the edge & that cute little creature in the corner are such a nice contrast.  Did you notice the little snippet of the border sticker from the kit across the bottom of her photo?

This layout just rocks my world!

Wednesday's Fab Find!

Happy Wednesday!

It's Fab Find Week at CC and I have a found a really fab layout to share from Adele.

And since I love to make a list...

1. I absolutley adore that Adele was able to come up with the photo from her childhood to use on this!

2. Her own handwriting...I need to do more of this! (Is this a good time to give my speech about how important it is to include our own handwriting on layouts - at least every once in a while?)

3. I am loving the contrast that the black "frame" adds to the title.

4. Mixed alphas...

5. That huge heart with the bow is a perfect way to balance the larger photo with the smaller one.

6. Unrelated to Adele's Fab Find layout, but on the list anyway: I'm beginning to plan the next CC Cyber Crop! It's going to be in October, but we need to choose a weekend. Give me some input!

A fab find!

The bold colors and adorable titlework on this layout caught my eye in the gallery! I love Mary's amazing detail work. Look at the attention she gave to creating interesting, fun borders! And the Beach Baby title is made of chipboard alphas, and the texture is so lifelike! I also love the adorable border of work trucks! Congrats on being Tuesday's fab find, Mary, aka Southern Moments on the CC board! Be sure to check out her blog, too!

Celeste... come on down!!!

It's Fab Find Week and I'm kicking it off with "Joy" by Celeste:

Ahhh, isn't this just so serene and calming?  I seriously said "aahhhh" when I clicked on it.  It uses so many parts of the Preppy  Boy kit from September!   I especially love the lime green stitching she added on the blue cardstock... really  makes it pop!  I think the banner sticker she chose is my absolute favorite from the sheet that came in the kit - the shape of the individual penants, the hearts, the swirls... *swoon* :)

Sunday's final reveal

 
Happy Sunday to all of you,today I'll be showing you a closer look at my Preppy boy projects.

I loved working with this kit !!! Mostly because of the Sassafras border stickers, I am seriously loving the look of banners on projects right now !!

For this layout ,I added a bit of hot pink to bright out the pink of the Indie Girl papers and stickers. (there's a punched out circle of the same hot pink cardstock under the large Jenni Bowlin button) .I also cut out a few of the small flowers from the paper then added those flowers to the paper with pop dots.

For the double banners,I first adhered the stickers to cardstock then cut them out and adhered them the my layout with pop dots.The Thickers and pearls are from my stash.

 

This boy is...

Isn't it fun how adding an accent color can change the look of this kit !!! For this layout I added RED .

 
The Basic Grey ribbon I received in my kit was red , so I decided to add a few other touches of this color with the Cosmo Cricket Tiny Type alphas in red and a few punch stars in cardstock.

Rub a dub dub I have a cute boy in my tub

 

For this layout I chose to bring out the TEAL colors in this kit .I fist misted the cream cardstock from my stash with Glimmer Mist in turquoise. I traced a large circle (gee,I guess I really do love making big circles  !! ), then sewed around the circle with matching thread. All the sticker elements were first adhered to cardstock ,trimmed and adhered to layout using pop dots. I love these CC Tiny Type alphas (in Turquoise) for this project, a perfect match for the Preppy Boy kit.!!!
Next I have two quick cards I made for my father in law's 70th birthday and for Congratulations card for a work friend (she got married last night) !
