Happy Tuesday everyone! First let's get to the winner of last Monday's Challenge.
Congratulations Daiva!!!
Please email jamie@coordiantescollections.com so she can get your prize out to you.
Now let's move on to the "creative stuff" since this is my turn to share something creative with you. So back to my question...Got pumpkins? (It's getting close) Now I know you probably have a lot of scrappy embellishments because face it, we all like to collect scrappy supplies just as much as using them. How about combining your pumpkins with your scrappy embellishments?
I chose to use a white and an orange pumpkin. Lately I've really been drawn to those white ones! Then I gathered some supplies I thought I would use....

a stencil, some ribbons, flowers, mists, acrylic paint, thickers, rhinestones & pearls(whatever strikes your fancy) I then started withe the white pumpkin...

Love these diamonds, so I traced them around the outside of my pumpkin. (Last year I used the same pattern on an orange pumpkin)
Then I filled in the diamonds with black acrylic paint. After the paint dried I began my embellishing. I put an orange rhinestone in the center of the 4 sm. diamonds and between each group I placed a clear rhinestone.
Then around that tiny stem I placed some ribbon bows in various black & white patterns. I then grabbed a white tag, outlined it in black and used some Thickers for the "boo!" and tied this on the top. Lastly for a little more height I cut 2 bats out of black cardstock(which I glittered) sandwiched a piece of wire between them and then stuck that into the stem.
Next up...the orange pumpkin:
I first placed a Prima crystal swirl on the pumpkin. Then I broke into my flower stashand I got out some new flowers I just picked up in the CC store. These Prima Craftable flowers looked like they could be a lot of fun. You can ink them, stamp on them, use paints, mists, etc. I chose to try out some mists on them with this project.

On this flower I used 2 different mists (burnt red & lemon zest) the combonation gives a great fall feel and just a bit of shimmer. After my flowers dried I added pearls and rhinestones to the centers. Then I just started attaching a random mixture of flowers to the side of my pumpkin.
Since this one isn't Halloween specific I think I may just leave it out until Thanksgiving!
Here they both are sitting on my kitchen island..
Two nice things about decorating this way with the pumpkins: 1) They are not cut so they don't attract fruit flies(can't stand those things) and 2) If you want you can peel off the embellishments when you are done and reuse them(I know this works with the rhinestones and crystal swirl because I used some on a pumpkin last year...am going to try with the flowers this year).
If you decorate a pumpkin with your supplies I'd love to see it, so post it to the gallery.
