Hey, ladies! Hope today finds you all happy and well. It's been a rough month for me. My creative self has had to be stored away to focus on family issues, so I apologize for the lameness of today's creative post. But don't worry! The little creative cogs and wheels are spinning and I'm so very anxious to begin creating again. November's "Just Desserts" kit is on my desk and I'll be diving into it soon.
First, though, let me annouce Daiva as the winner of last week's "Monday's Challenge", Leavin' Some Lovin'. Congrats, Daiva. Be sure to send an email to Jamie letting her know you were the winner so she can get an awesome prize out to you.
Today I'm going to share with you my three all-time favorite layouts and tell you a little bit about why it's a fave. Choosing three was tough, and if you ask me tomorrow what my top three are, the answer is likely to change. But today, at least, these rank at the top. Here they are, in no particular order.
Every Boy Needs a Pair of Binoculars I love this layout because of that screamin' yellow! It pops beautifully off of that neutral background. I love, too, that I had alphas that were a perfect color match and that I found a use for the Prima crystal brackets. Also, I loved that little tree tag (I forget where I got it) but I thought I'd never find a good use for it.
What Makes a Boy Happy This was one of my first attempts at closely cropping a photo. I was nervous as heck! I ended up with four narrow-ish photos and I was very pleased with how they turned out. I was also beginning to experiment more with mixing embellies and with layering. All my experimenting just coalesced nicely on this one without much angst, and I just love it when that happens.
The Creative Type This layout was another that just "came together" for me, with little time spent anguishing over what I wanted to do with it. Also, it was one of my early attempts at mixing alphas, and I felt like I did a pretty good job of it.
Thanks for letting me share. And congrats again to Daiva. See you soon!
all amazing choices! TFS!
