It's the little things, really. Like when I get a package of scrapbooking goodies and, in addition to ooohing and aaahing over the pretty colors and yummy textures and fun embellies, I realize that the packaging itself is...well...just as good as the product!
So when I opened my last CC order and saw these...
...of course, I started thinking about all the fun ways to use Jillibean Soup Corrugated Buttons and Crate Paper Restoration Sew Brads. But my second thought was: how cute is this packaging?! I can totally repurpose this!
Because I've been in a Crate Paper kinda mood lately, I pulled out some old Crate from my stash (the Mia collection from last year -- so beautiful, so classic!). First, I took all the scrappy goodies out and replaced them with some M&M-like candy. (I bought mine in bulk at Whole Foods and the colors are much softer and prettier than M&M's, but you could use anything.) I used Zip Dry to reattach the newly-filled bubbles to the backing, and then I embellished...
Didn't take a lot of time, but I love the way they turned out. I can't wait to give one as a "pick-me-up" for a friend or leave a little thank-you/hostess gift.
Take a look in your stash. I'll bet you have all kinds of beautiful packaging just waiting to take on a new life!
And I'm excited to announce that the winner of last Monday's challenge -- Where in the World is Coordinates Collections? -- is Jean Marmo. Please email jamie@coordinatescollections.com by December 14 to claim your prize!
Have a great week, ladies!
Gorgeous ideas! I am in love with product packaging too! Manufacturers obviously know this about scrapbookers, because the packaging continues to get cuter and cuter all the time!! Love these projects Robyn!!
