Wow I'm covering a lot in this post! First let's start with todays FAB FIND... This layout caught my eye immediately in the gallery for so many different reasons. It was made with one of my favorite kits(Amish Quilt), it had a nice amount of journaling with three supporting pictures and it was a great take on the "scraplift challenge".
Congrats on being today's FAB Find Elise!!! If you haven't left her any love yet you can do it here.
PCC...can I just say I'm loving it! When I started planning my book I really wasn't sure how it was going to look, but after this month I think I now have a game plan. Since I'm using a 6x12" album in the horizontal format I decided to use two pages per month. That way I have plenty of room for pictures and my journaling.
On this spread I decided to use pieces from the "Life Documented" kit, papers from BoBunny "Olivia", some Crate Paper chipboard pieces, and Pink Paislee alpha stickers.
Since I had a wide range of activities documented this month, I decided to make a small photo collage in Photoshop. When I make a collage I usually decided how big I want my collage then I start sizing pictures and dragging them on to my canvas. When I'm done I sometimes add white lines to seperate the individual shots. After printing I mounted on a dark piece of the BoBunny paper, adhered to my page and added a few photo corner stickers from the "Life Documented" kit.
When I went to put this in my album I had a little dilema with my page protectors. I bought the 6x12 American Crafts page protectors from the CC store to use with this project.
As you can see in this photo when I inserted them into my album, they stuck out of the album by almost one inch. They are actually almost 7x12 inches because of the strip where the holes are punched.
Hmmm? I decided to try to cut them down. I trimmed the protector right along the edge where the two sheets are sealed together. I marked holes for the binder rings on my paper with a pencil, inserted the page in the protector, and then punched through the page and protector at the same time.
Viola! It fits perfectly when the album is closed and my page is perfectly protected.
Now how about a little peek into my "Party Time" creations?
Here's a peek of one of my layouts...
And then you get a cute little chipboard album from Maya Road in the kit & a Jenni Bowlin "paint dabber"(I got a light blue color) I've started painting and priming my pages. Look at this page base I created using the dabber on a painted white background...
After the paint dried I outlined the circles with a black sharpie. It was so easy to do and makes a fun graphic background!
Have a great weekend everyone.
Congratulations Elisa on being the Fab Find!
