Have you ever put a layout together that you LOVED, then thought, whoops! no room left for journaling?
Well, I HAVE A SOLUTION.
Just journal around your photo. It's fun, it's easy, and it makes your journaling look like a cohesive part of your page design instead of something you (OK, me!) just threw onto the page at the last minute because you didn't plan it out.
Not that that's ever happened to ME, of course. But it's happened to OTHER people I know. Who share my first name. And my craft space.
Fine! It's me! I forgot to include journaling in the layout below! And I loved the layout, and didn't want to mess with it!
BUT . . .
Now I have a cool journaling challenge for you!
(Forgive me for just a minute, as I tell you how SO STINKIN' CUTE it is when Henry kisses me. It's like he's trying to eat my face. Which I realize doesn't sound all that adorable, but always makes my heart skip a beat.)
Where was I? Right, journaling around your photo.I just wrote a quick one-liner about my ridiculously sweet kid and wrapped it right around my photo. I like it, because it gets my journaling on the page without detracting from the rest of the page.
This layout was a little more intentional. I painted the background before I had any idea what I was going to do - just that I knew I wanted to paint. It turned out that I had formed a nice canvas for a centered block of pictures and embellishments and patterned paper and my title and . . .
wait for it . . .
Journaling!
And you know what would have been awesome? If my journaling had fit perfectly around that center block. Ah, well. You get what you get. That one sentence will just have to remain a straggler. Sorry little sentence.
What about you? Have you ever journaled around your photos?
WANT TO GIVE IT A TRY?
Good, because that's this month's journaling challenge! Here are all the important details.
The Challenge:
- Create a NEW project or layout featuring journaling around your photo(s).
The rules:
- Upload the challenge project to the ‘Contests and Challenges' section of the CC Gallery in the Monday's Challenges folder by Sunday, April 17th at midnight PST (A whole month to do your layout!)
- Include the name of the Challenge ("Journal Around") in your title.
- Post a URL LINK of the project into the thread for the Monday's Challenge for that week on the Message Board
You MUST upload to the Monday's Challenges section in the Gallery AND provide a URL LINK on the Message Board for your entry to be valid. Posting the project image in the Message Board thread only does not meet the rules, and won't be counted as an entry. Challenge projects do not need to use a CC Monthly kit, but must be newly created for this challenge. The winner will be announced on Monday, April 18th, on the CC Blog and CC Message Board.
Have fun!
Great challenge and examples!! :)
