Hi Everyone! I'm Carol Sheetz, and I am taking over the Coordinates Collections blog today!!
For my first blog post, I want to show you how I used the wonderful February Blue Skies Kit!
One of the things that I really love to do when I'm creating a layout is to start off with a neutral cardstock as my page base. I love kraft! I used some Glimmer Mist on my kraft cardstock, and then I added strips of the wonderful patterned papers that are in the kit. I love using many different colors to add a lot of character to a layout. The colors really pop off the neutral background! I also love to use border punches and my sewing machine. I added three of the Jillibean Soup corrugated shapes, but first I inked the edges of them slightly before adding them to my layout. The buttons that I sewed on a couple of the shapes really added a nice detail and an additional pop of color to my layout! I really love the way this page turned out!
Here's another layout that I created using the February Blue Skies kit. I love this ledger paper, so I decided to use it as the base of my layout. I detail cut some of the clouds and added those to the top of my page. One of the clouds was popped up with pop dots to add some dimension to the cloud cluster. In order to add some of the beautiful patterned papers, I cut three very thin strips and adhered them to the left side of my layout. I love how that little bit of color really adds some interest to my layout and compliments the fun photographs! I then went a little crazy and added a whole bunch of brads! I have so many, so I figured, use them up! I think this is a really fun page!
When I'm creating layouts with a fantastic kit, I love to create cards with the paper scraps that I have left sitting on my desk. So, I quickly created a fun card for my card stash! I used a border punch, added some stitching, and a simple sentiment. I love the Thickers that were included with this kit!
I hope you enjoyed looking at just three of the projects that I created with my February Blue Skies kit! I absolutely love this kit, and I cannot wait to create more fun projects using it!
Love these projects, Carol! The row of brads is a great idea.
